It was a Masterpiece though!

It has to be “huge“, it must be particular, unique even better.

Everybody wanted to be included, everyone wanted to participate in a way or another just to feel it from near enough so to say loudly and proudly “I even was part of it!“.

Our NEWBORN seems to have raised very much attention, gained a lot of reputation. We are proud of ourselfs for this creature, even I personally feel proud that I helped in in one way or another. It’s something that can never be forgotten.
Joy and happiness is floating above us as those yellow-helium-filled balloons flew up on Prishtina’s sky that night.
I hope that we, you, everybody, in particular people of Kosova enjoy this newborn life within their newborn country.

In a nutshell, on behalf of NEWBORN today we’ve created a new page on this blog on which we are going to include every possible edge we can be aware of where NEWBORN sculpture has been posted, filmed, mentioned at least, let that be a whole article, a small paragraph and/or even a single word though.

Hence, here it is, visit the Newborn on the Media page and enjoy exploring.

Update: seems that the term NEWBORN was very quickly absorbed by the people and every one who displayed something about Kosova that day referred to it usually with this term.
Google proves it more if you wanna know ;)
Google It! to see for yourself.

Hi, Arian and Valoni! This is Alessandro Soler, I’m assistant editor in O Globo newspaper (second largest in Brazil, 1,2 million readers daily) and I’m doing a report on how teenagers and youngsters from Kosovo are facing this true hurricane after the independence of the country. I’m writing to ask for your help in order to find one or two young people (15 to 21y/o) to be interviewed. I’ve searched for these people in some blogs, but I just couldn’t find any Kosovo youngsters, only from Serbia. I’d like to say your blog is very good and your project seems to be quite interesting, so it would be great for me to talk to you guys as well. Could you please help me to find those guys? Below you have my contacts, and I’ve already let my e-mail too.

Since now, thank you very much!

    Best regards,

i wonder where the newborn will be kept? will it be in the museum? lets just hope the ink wont blot and cause further discoloration as time pass by. im sorry arian but this reminds me of toilet walls where every ill disciplined person writes…i was here, pedro loves petra, and various insignias.

    Long live Kosova Indepedent
17 of february was a blessed day for albanians all over the world , it was a day where we breathed as a nation after so many years, centuries,
It was a day of human rights victory
It was a day that corrected a big mistake of the Europe’s history
I was not there in Prishtina
I was in Tirana , but the air smelled Liberty, hope, future:)

    Gezuar Dardania ime e dashur

    Cheers :)

    @Kantero Bandido
I could say that I fully agree with you about the black writings,
but our intention was to let people experience the feeling of putting a sign on the independence, that way admitting the acceptance of freedom, hence, if the writings are readable or not does not raise that much of impression though,
but even if we let the letters untouchable, I’d wonder would that make any sense at all ?
in first place what matters is the part when the sculpture has been revealed, that moment everyone felt shocked for they didn’t know what they’re expecting, and the unexpected was astonishing I’d say. I think you agree with me.
    Cheers!

i have seen the pictures of the newborn and i feel as if it was kind of vandalized due to the countless black writings on it, writings which if you dont understand, seems appearing dirty and ugly.

    NEWBORN

I was very privileged to have witnessed what has happened in Kosova last week (17th February 2008). It’s not everyday that you are moved positively by an event, but the NEWBORN idea was simply one brilliant idea, executed perfectly that has moved everyone who was present.

The sheer size of the sculpture was enough to draw attention of the worlds media and turn their camera lenses towards it. I don’t think people were prepared to what was going to be unveiled. The creative idea behind it was one that will put Kosova in the map!

NEWBORN is an institution in my mind and will be remembered in history for it’s power to project peoples feelings.

I want to congratulate Fisnik and his wonderful team for making us proud. I personally felt RE-BORN when I became a part of it by signing my name!

    Me respekt,

    Besart Bujupi
