Dreams Do Come True

Everything happens for a reason and good things do happen. I’ve witnessed many things in my personal life that have changed me and helped me grow. There’s much more to live and learn, but this moment in time I believe has changed us all and helped us see ourselves as a country that is free and ready to meet its challenges and obstacles just so it climb right up to the top and see itself as part of the group of nations that fully enjoy its freedom and sovereignty.

There’s no words that can describe the feeling you get when people walk by and talk loud and clear about NEWBORN and its meaning to Kosova. My father said - “This sculpture marks the independence of Kosova.”

Yes, the Declaration of Independence was signed by the members of the parliament of Kosova on February 17, 2008 around 4pm. On the other side of the town, people had a chance to sign that same Declaration through the NEWBORN Sculpture.

Typography above typography, this art piece marks the beginning of a new era in the history of people of Kosova, and I mean getting chills is not enough. Dropping down and recklessly yelling out unarticulated sounds could be well enough the exhilaration you get from this.

I salute all who worked on this and those who made it come to life by signing it.

Cheers.

    Kudos guys,

Though NEWBORN lost it glow… kind of liked it better without names and marks. (Maybe out of jealousy since I was not there to sign on it!)

Overall, still think that merely pure bright yellow, against dark background, and spotlights hitting on it… would make NEWBORN shine eternally….

I am not Albanian, but the independence of Kosovo has made me extremely happy. Good people of Kosovo are finally free from Serbian terrorists.

Hey Binna - What’s crackin? Back at MSU huh? nicceee — you have the chance to re-live the party days. Thanks for the kind words and I promise I’ll write more : )

Bardhi - We’re working with the city to find a permanent place for the sculpture. As far as I go I would love for it to stay where it is, because that’s where it happened. However, I think the city will have the final say on this. Regardless, it was a blast working on NEWBORN. Cheers…
